Whale watching in Salvador da Bahia Praia do Forte

Day trip:

Sea safari from Salvador with English speaking guide

It starts early:

Transfer from our hotel or Salvador Airport to Praia do Forte.

There the adventure begins with a visit to the Whale Institute, where we learn some interesting facts about whales.

Then it's on foot through the small town of Praia do Forte along the beach to the place of the Escuna.

With the ESCUNA / schoner (typical wooden ship) we drive about 5 km from the coast where the humpback whales are in the warm water of the Atlantic at this time to multiply.

“Obervação de baleias” as they say here in Brazil, whale watching.

Here in front of Praia do Forte we watch the "Baleia Jubarte" the humpback whale from about mid-July to the end of October.

In these waters they mate and give birth to their calves, which would not survive birth in the cold waters of Antarctica.

This allows us to observe a wide variety of behavioral patterns

We can encounter whales in a wide variety of social groups.

.Humpback whales live mostly alone or occasionally for hunting and mating in small groups of two to nine individuals.

Cows with newborns are often accompanied by a bull who defends them from intrusive other whales, rival bulls, individuals and small groups can be spotted on the tour.

The chance of seeing these great animals on our tour is 95%.
